Mapping land-use finance in Colombia: closing the gap for forest conservation and climate action

The EU REDD Facility is mapping land-use financing in Colombia to identify key financial flows in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector and explore strategies for channelling new sources of funding to fulfil climate change and forest conservation commitments.

Mapping land-use finance in Ecuador for REDD+ action

With ProAmazonía, the EU REDD Facility conducted a mapping of public and private land-use finance flows in Ecuador using its Land-use Finance Tool. It aimed to assess the impact of finance on REDD+ actions and national forest and climate goals. The mapping results highlight the need to redirect financial resources toward sustainability and conservation efforts.

About the EU REDD Facility

The EU REDD Facility supports countries in improving land-use governance as part of their efforts to slow, halt and reverse deforestation. It also supports the overall EU effort to reduce its contribution to deforestation in developing countries. The Facility focuses on countries that are engaged in REDD+, an international mechanism that incentivises developing countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their forest and land-use sectors. The Facility is hosted by the European Forest Institute and was established in 2010.
